Palworld
Separate the base crew from the expedition crew
A co-op plan for choosing Pals, managing base work, and preventing shared progression from becoming one player’s chore list.
Palworld × Graveyard Keeper 2 Steam Bundle is Out Now!
· Store announcement, not a gameplay update
The October 28 post announces a 10% Steam bundle, not a patch. The October 20 developer post is the relevant gameplay-news item, reporting poll results and a new update; consult its notes before claiming version-specific changes.
Read the official announcement ↗How to make a co-op session work
A base and an exploration party solve different problems. Decide who maintains production and who joins the next trip, then rotate so one player does not become the permanent base manager.
Before a boss or long route, compare the party’s purpose: survivability, damage, transport, or gathering. Each Pal slot should have a reason for this trip.
Use a short end-session handoff: what is crafting, what resource is missing, and what is the next shared objective. This prevents one person from logging in alone to prepare everything.
Gear and preparation: choose for the job
- Match weapons and Pals to the activity. Capture, boss fights, and resource runs ask for different choices; there is no one best party for every job.
- Treat passive traits and partner abilities as tradeoffs to test in your current version. Record whether a build helped with the actual task rather than copying an undated tier list.
- A bundle announcement does not change balance. For October 28, the useful question is whether the group wants both games, not whether Pal gear changed.
Our read: what this game asks of a group
Co-op friction often comes from unequal ownership of the shared base. A visible task board makes the next needed material and the volunteer explicit. Keep jobs small enough that an expedition player can contribute after returning. The group is healthier when base work creates the next adventure instead of replacing it.
Who this game fits
Choose it for groups who enjoy creature collection, survival exploration, and shared production. It is less suited to groups that disagree about grinding or want identical progression without coordinating a shared world.
Questions players ask
- Did the October 28 bundle add Palworld content?
- No. The Steam post is a bundle announcement. Check the October 20 update notes for gameplay changes.
- How do we divide base work fairly?
- Use a short task list, rotate the production role, and keep a group objective that requires everyone to leave base.
